Maastricht

If you like to combine a business event or a congress together with a visit to a remarkable city you must go to Maastricht. Maastricht is situated in the heart of Europe and the city is easy to reach by car, train or by air. Maastricht is a compact city, attractive because you find history, art and culture close together; it has a certain magic and pleasant atmosphere. The city is surrounded by the beautiful green scenery of the hills of southern Limburg. Business and relaxation are in line with each other, the variety of interesting locations makes a visit to Maastricht so valuable.

International character
Maastricht has a more international reputation, different from the traditional cities in the Netherlands. It is different: it combines a modern atmosphere with a historic old city centre, and the ‘joie de vivre’ of the people living in Maastricht. It is situated on the river Meuse, close to the borders of Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg, and it is surrounded by the green hills which are even more different from the flat surface people are used to see in the low lands. The many boutiques and the quality and richness of all the cultural curiosities, together with a gastronomic exuberant hospitality give the city an international character.
De city houses 120.000 habitants, 5000 of them are students from the Maastricht University or the famous University hospital. The city has an excellent reputation to be safe and compact. A walk from the congress centre to the hotels in the city is easy and can be done by everybody, enjoying the short distances and nice neighbourhoods. Maastricht is the best of two worlds: a location big enough for a great convention, but also having a city centre small enough to enjoy and meet in a cosy environment.
